International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian non-profit organization that functions primarily in war zones. It is dedicated to improve quality of life through health interventions that build local capacity in areas worldwide where few organizations dare to serve. IMC offers training and health care to local populations and medical assistance to people at highest risk, and responds rapidly to emergency situations. It also rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self reliance. IMC has programs in Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Azerbaijan, Burundi, East Timor, Eritrea, Georgia, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Kenya, Kosovo, Pakistan, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Liberia, and Iraq.

Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) is an 824-bed academic hospital with a comprehensive emergency department. The medical center is part of Rush University Medical College that also encompasses Rush University which is home to one of the first medical colleges in the Midwest as well as graduate programs in applied health and basic sciences.

Stroger Hospital of Cook County (CCH) is a world renowned academic medical center located in Chicago, Illinois. The emergency medicine residency program at Stroger Hospital of Cook County (CCH) is one the largest in the United States with 54 residents. Stroger Hospital of Cook County (CCH) is affiliated with Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). Combined, they serve more than 200,000 patients per year in the greater Chicago area, including 4,500 major trauma cases. Both of these hospitals were named as centers of excellence in Bio-terrorism response for the city of Chicago.
