Overview

The International Emergency Medicine Fellowship is a joint program between Stroger Hospital of Cook County (CCH), Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), and International Medical Corps (IMC). It combines clinical practice, international projects focusing on emergency medicine development, and studies in public heath. 

The program is offered to emergency medicine residency trained physicians, board eligible or certified, with special interest in international emergency medicine. It prepares the fellows to assume leadership role in international health care, with a focus on emergency medicine development, by acquiring clinical, academic, administrative, organizational, and research skills. 

The fellowship is a 2-year program during which the fellow will serve as an attending at both Stroger Hospital of Cook County (CCH) and Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). Every year, the fellow will spend 12 weeks overseas working on various international projects. The fellow will also earn a degree of Masters in Public Health in the division of Health Policy and Administration.
